Blakeney Film Night: Friday 21st June at the Village Hall, £5 on the Door

“One Life” (12)

An inspirational drama based on the true story of the humanitarian, Sir Nicholas Winton.  As a young London stockbroker he had helped hundreds of mostly Jewish children escape from Germany-occupied Czechoslovakia on the brink of WWII: an heroic mission later known as the Kindertransport.

Yet decades later, Winton remained haunted by the fate of those he couldn’t save – before finally coming to terms with the guilt & grief he’d carried for so long.  Anthony Hopkins & Johnny Flynn play this humble “ordinary man” at different ages, supported by an outstanding cast including Helena Bonham-Carter.  A heartwarming tribute to a remarkable person.
